Pulau Payar (Payar Island) is a marine sancturay near
Langkawi Island in Malaysia. The island is small and unpopulated except when visited
by the daily tour boats. Scuba diving, Snorkelling and submarine tours are popular
with the visitors, as the nearby reefs are fairly spectacular. The picture
above was taken in the shallows of the island. The sharks seen are baby black
tip reef sharks that come in close to the shore to get a feed from the tour guides.
These sharks are considered 'Mostly Harmless'. Note: Google Earth
