Kuta Beach is the main tourist stretch on the exotic
tropical island of Bali, a Hindu province of Indonesia. Travelers new to the surf
rent body boards on the beach while more experienced surfers catch a ride on a
skiff to the outer reef breaks. Sunbakers exhausted from shopping and sightseeing
line the sand, interrupted only frequently by hawkers selling icecreams, massages
and henna tattoos...
Until recent times this was a peaceful place, a
mecca for aussie travelers on their first rite-of- passage overseas trip or a
well deserved stopover for European backpackers before returning home. These days
its a little quieter, and though the tourists will return over time its unlikely
that the atmosphenre will ever be as relaxed as it once was........
